TREB Moves Towards Virtual Office Website, Excitement Begins…

Who today, goes into the office , if the work can be done any place and the meeting with the client can happen everywhere but the office. Along with your access to all the resources you need being at your finger tips any where you can find a wireless network and with a laptop ( which may cost less than $500 today) , you are in business and you can add value to the client.

An idea whose time has long ago come gets attention and action. With realtors benefiting, as the world’s business environment is any where two individuals can meet (or meeting virtually) to discuss and explore opportunities, with hopes of mutual reward.

So the Toronto Real Estate Board’s announcement recently dealing with Virtual Offices and how they can assist.

Virtual Office Website Policy Approved

August 25, 2011 – The following Virtual Office Website (VOW) Policy and Rules has been finalized and approved by the TREB Board of Directors. Over the next 60 days, TREB will undertake the process of developing the technological infrastructure to implement VOWs.

The development of a comprehensive VOW policy is something TREB undertook independently as part of a Strategic Plan in July of 2010 in response to a changing business environment.

Crafting a policy that ensures the safety of consumer information without restricting Members’ ability to provide the highest level of service to their customers took great sensitivity and care.

This was completely independent of recent actions by the Competition Commissioner and was continued despite those actions.

This VOW policy confirms TREB’s strong belief in open competition and in its Members’ competitive spirit. TREB has, and will continue to, take the necessary steps to empower REALTOR® Members to provide the highest level of service for their customers.

Go Small and Go Home, because from there you can now touch the world.

The world and your neighbours can see you and your marketing efforts, products and services.

With the advantage of quality technology and leveraging it into service and access

for the client  you gain an audience and an opportunity.

All my meetings happen anywhere but the office, in the virtual offices of our city.

As we move all around town, meeting with clients in their favourite spots or in their

homes and at their properties.

We prefer their offices or properties so we can see it,  understand it and hopefully list it.

With buyers, we are in the coffee shops and food establishments, breaking bread

and having a drink with them.

Entertainment as part of your marketing plan, a comfortable environment where

a relationship can be developed and business will follow.

A degree of trust and confidence must be developed between the parties first, before

the client takes the risk to use your services/products.

Can you perform ?

Are they sincere and motivated to do business ?

Are you dealing with the decision maker(s) or is this the first round of discussions and

presentation in order to be recommended to the next level in the organization?

It seems to be a dance where we are both checking each other out before  we really commit.

The coffee shops and restaurants of our city are a buzz with meetings both social and business.

With the better locations offering free WiFi connections for all their customers.

We are there with our laptops and have full access to the systems of our business,

MLS, emails, Databases and our e-files.

We are all going electronic soon, no paper.

Paperless!  Are you ready or not ?

Right there we can search, show and tell the clients, as we explore their

needs and budgets in search of properties and opportunities.

Cell phone in hand we call the listing brokerages and make appoints for

inspection of the properties or start a negotiation for the acquisition or divestiture of  asset(s).

There is a lot of motion and chatter in these establishments to keep our hearts racing,

with the help of the extra bold caffeine we consume, and our minds focused on the deal(s).

The virtual office has evolved into a more social setting and business is getting done.

What about privacy?

Individuals on cell phones and groups all around us discussing in detail the nature of their business and

their strategies they will consider employing.

Visit the right coffee  shop or restaurant and you can get the latest news on the business front.

And observe who is meeting with whom.

What a world !

What are your thoughts about the virtual office?

What are you doing to make your business more efficient and effective in the new world.

Have you adapted to the new scene from the virtual office to blogging to video blogs

to sharing freely information to gain a platform to attract business opportunities and clients loyal to you?
